LG Optimus a sheep gingerbread this can (hopefully)

We already know Froyo-run LG Optimus a best sellers will receive Android gingerbread update, but as long as there was no talk about when it might happen. We know now, thanks to LG India that the update is likely to be the case in May.

LG outset stated Optimus-a will not be upgraded to Android 2.3 since it does not meet the minimum requirements. However, the company changed its mind soon after and has promised us an update of gingerbread. It will come six months later-somewhere at the end of May.

And just when we thought that things become crystal clear LG posted another statement to confuse us. It seems it may not be confirmed, and things may change.

We hope that other message has to do with LG Law Department, who's afraid of the consequences if the company misses a promised release date.

Most importantly here is anyway, LG is working on the update and the gingerbread close to being completed.

LG Optimus 2 X first: how fast is the Tegra 2?

Will 2011 be remembered as the year that the dual-core processors made its breakthrough smartphone. We have this LG Optimus 2 X pioneer and we are going to give you a preview of what the dual-core CPU has to offer you today.

LG Optimus 2 X official photos

IT's not one of our typical previews, you will see here we will only focus on Optimus 2 X and hopefully Tegra 2 platform on the market. Normally we avoid collecting information about the performance of non-detaljhandeln devices, but this is so good that it almost becomes unfair to save your praise.

General: Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support. 3 G with HSPA form factor: touch screen bar phone dimensions: 123.9 x 63.5 x 10.9 mm, 139 g Display: 4 ' 16 M color TFT LCD Capacitive Touch screen, 480 x 800 pixels Platform: dual-core 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A 9 proccessor, Ultra Low Power GeForce GPU, Tegra 2 chipset OS: Android 2.2 (Froyo) memory: 8 GB of onboard storage, microSD card slot camera: 8 megapixel camera with auto focus, face detection and touch focus. 1080p video recording @ 24 fps and 720 p @ 30 fps connection: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, standard microUSB port, GPS receiver with A-GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack, micro HDMI port Misc: Adobe Flash 10.1 support, FM radio, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, DivX and Xvid video support up to 1080p

It doesn't 't take a specialist to realize that LG Optimus 2 X is the most capable smartphone released so far. You can probably argue about a Retina SuperAMOLED screen or aren't t contribute more to the overall user experience, but as far as the smartphone tasks, Tegra 2 is what you want by your side.

Of course, it is only valid if the dual-core performance baby cashes all the checks that the LG PR wrote. Everyone wants to feel a significant improvement in performance and Optimus 2 X out, maybe burst the bubble.

Let s see what those benchmarks have to say about it. Join us after the break.

LG Optimus 2 X is in our offices, we are trying to its 1080p camcorder

We just received the LG Optimus 2 X and we couldn't wait to try it. We have some camera tests to you (on Optimus 2 X shoots 1080p FullHD video), along with live shots and also a hands-on video.

LG offers 2 X LG Optimus as the world's first dual-core Tegra 2 smartphones and impress us with its performance. But we have our doubts that Android 2.2 Froyo uses two cores (we're still running tests).

While that's going on, check out these live images of Optimus 2 x. There will be more to come and you can read our first hands-on impressions, which we'll post in the blog soon.

LG Optimus 2 X has come to our Office

The first thing we tried when we received the LG Optimus 2 X was the camera we've seen 8MP cameras before, but FullHD (1080p) video recording is a first for us. We have put on Optimus 2 X our compare photo tool and Video tool Compares.

Before we continue, here is a selection of videos uploaded to FullHD YouTube. Don't forget to activate the 1080p mode and open the video fullscreen.

Our first impression is that 720 p videos works very smoothly, while the 1080p video don t arrive fully the announced 24 frames per second. Still, video resolution FullHD videos are very good and you can see the details that are not present in 720 p recordings. But can the heavy video compression means some 720 p recording telephones solve an equal amount of detail in some situations (check out the resolution chart comparisons with the iPhone 4).

Low-light performance is very promising. In this part of our Video compare tools leads Optimus 2 X road.

When it comes to the still shoots prisoners LG Optimus 2 X 8MP photos. The quality is quite good, which was a relief considering we've seen some poor shooters from LG lately. We'll have more thoughts on the camera when we get our Preview ready. Here's the Optimus 2 X in the photo, compare tools.

We also managed to snap some real pictures while it was still enough light outdoors, check them out.

We're going back to our benchmarks and tests there's still a lot to try out before LG Optimus 2 X preview is complete.

LG Optimus 3D teased in a video, we'll see it for the first time

It turns out the voltage LG Optimus 2 X generated over the last few weeks will be short-lived because the newer and cooler LG Optimus 3D is just around the corner, as seen in the following teaser video.

LG came out yesterday with a little press release announces that they will demonstrate the world's first 3D smartphone to the world at MWC 2011.

Optimus 3D, smartphone, it leaked a photo that we talked about a couple of days ago. Since it was not quite sure if this is the real deal, but now that we have the official LG teaser video, all lines.

We have extracted the image to the left from the video below and you can clearly see the resemblance with the phone leaked by Phandroid.

Another interesting thing here is that this new teaser video requires Optimus 3D The world's first Dual Core Multi Channel. Now Optimus 3D surely not be the first dual core smartphone (LG Optimus 2 X has the honour), so we bet the central part of this statement is "Multi-channel".

Yesterday we told you how the latest Android versions really aren't using dual-core Tegra 2 chip which lacks multitasking features. The only Android OS version that have official support for multi-core processors are actually 3.0 honeycomb. But this has not yet been confirmed for smartphones.

Google now has a honeycomb event today, then we should finally get everything about what honeycomb can and cannot do. So we guess, we'll soon know if Optimus 3D will be the first smartphone to run Android 3.0.

And now for video we promised you:

We count the days until MWC 2011, builds excitement really up. We love to see new tech we have never been seen before. Go ahead, LG, surprise us.

LG Optimus 2 X promised to come to Europe in January, but at this point-it's at all but certain that smartphone isn t going to make it in time. We hope, but that delay won t long and we'll get to see it on the street sometime in February.

LG was far less specific about Optimus black and its exciting offers new view tech and only said that it should be in the first half of the year. Still this Amazon listing gives us hope that we won t have to wait until June to see it in stores.

This is the first photo of LG Optimus 3D?

It was only a week ago that an e-mail message from LG called for us to get into new dimension at the event LG press at MWC 2011. And here's the first image of what would probably be LG Optimus 3D.

Here's a photograph. As with any rumor, a deal with a pinch of salt. Please note that your phone doesn't really like t see neither LG Optimus 2 X and Optimus 3D would be a 3D compatible version of 2 X.

As we reported earlier LG Optimus 3D should pack the 3D-compatible version of the Tegra 2 platform and a mobile 4.3-inch 3D display that was lifted back at CES 2011.

The first glasses-free 3D-screen handset will hopefully be announced at MWC 2011 in Barcelona in less than two weeks from now, and we couldn't be more excited about it, don't forget to keep some exclusive coverage and more detailed information about LG Optimus 3D.

LG Optimus 3D official dual-lens camera, details scant

Forget salt, 3D LG Optimus-enabled 3D is official. Teaser announcement stage right now, the full reveal won't happen until 14 February at MWC when LG will take us "to the new dimension".

Last Tuesday we started bringing things together and were convinced that LG readying a 3D-capable smartphone-3D-enabled (as in Stereoscopic 3D, not that 3D graphics) from NVIDIA Tegra 2 and a 4.3 "3D mobile display quite significant and so had some other things.

Yesterday then leaked an alleged photo of Optimus 3D (from one to the left).

Today, we issue an official press release LG gives us fraudulent details about LG Optimus 3D. They promise a glasses-free 3D-LCD and HDMI and DLNA sharing of 3D content.

LG is, of course, aware that there is a lot of 3D content around, Optimus will feature a 3D dual-lens camera can capture Stereoscopic shoots and videos. There is no resolution so far, but we've heard rumors that each cam is 8 megapixels.

More details will be released at MWC and there will be a live demo and then officially become the first 3D-capable smartphone. There is also a good chance that LG will announce a 3D-capable tablet too along with LG Optimus 3D.

LG announce Optimus 3D and 3D tablets at MWC 2011

A leaked image of Nvidia reveals that the 3D-compatible version of the Tegra 2 platform goes into mass production. LG registers the domain lgoptimus3d. nl. LG Optimus 3D yet unannounced appearance at the Dutch The Phone House Web page. And so here comes this invitation to press conference LG MWC reading Into the new Dimension. Do you see the pattern?

Okay Let's roll back a bit. Back at CES 2011, LG showed a 4.3 "3D mobile display and promised that we will see it on a working phone sooner than we might think.

Then GSMpedia stumbled on a placeholder for a phone called the Optimus 3D at The Phone House Web site and found that the Benelux branch of LG has registered the domain lgoptimus3d. nl. Just as they did with lgoptimus2x. nl shortly before Optimus 2 X official introduction.

And the silhouette of the invitation is almost identical to one of Optimus 2 X (see below). Since it was already announced, will of course notify a LG device with nearly identical design, without enough novelty has become the event Centre. You know, like a 3D display, perhaps.

This will ultimately this tipster falling us one line says next Optimus 2 X will pack a pair of 8 megapixel cameras that allows you to capture 3D images and a 3D viewer to browse them. yea, we initially laughed too. We feel stupid now.

And finally, yesterday, we received this leaked slide from Nvidia, which confirms that a 3D compatible version of the Tegra 2 platform is just about to enter mass production.

At this time, we couldn't be more convinced that LG will announce a 3D-capable smartphones at MWC. But it's not "we're pretty sure we will have a 3D tablet go with it too.

You see, LG has already confirmed that they are working on a Tegra 2-based Tablet PC. By chance, was an LG Tablet PC in a Korean music video, sporting two rear-facing cameras. We rest our case.

We know it is all a conspiracy theory at the moment, but we assume that it is never too late for LG smartphone games and their very own Congress.

LG Optimus 2 X, the first smartphone with dual-core Tegra 2, was one of the headlamps at CES 2011. This is the first public record in its performance over Android quadrant benchmark. We gotta say it is pretty good even though it is still a pre-production unit.
